POD books have had a long-held reputation of being poorly written and poorly edited.
Traditional publishers won't touch anything that doesn't bring in a boatload of money and has a strong following.

I usually use amazon to find a good book, but I look at the rating first (how many people have rated is as 5 star, 4 star etc) which you'll find generally shows a higher sales percentage of the book anyway. So far, I haven't been disappointed! Also, read the reviews that people have written on the b... Let's say a book on Amazon has a sales ranking of #20,190. The book has been out for 6 months. Where can I see what its Amazon ranking was since it came out? Thanks.

In promoting a book, a website is actually a great tool to have. It allows you to update info on book signings, reviews, where the book can be bought, etc. Email blasts to interested parities may carry more weight these days than postcards. I'll assume for now that... You have a book published or planning to, what would you like to know about book marketing and why?
I would ask them to explain to the people here in loud and easy to understand terms why self publishing sucks.

I think submission to an agent or a publisher would be a good first step.... I feel really stumped when it comes to marketing ideas for book sales. Everything takes time but rarely comes back with sales.
